Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail

RTJ Golf Trail in Alabama is worth the trip.  Because Nashville is so close to the trail courses in northern Alabama, we qualify for the special deals offered to their local golfers.  The best deal is the Trail Card.  If you plan to play more than once, the card gets you discounts that more than match the initial outlay.
We started our journey at the Schoolmaster course at Muscle Shoals.  Wide fairways and big greens were confidence builders and really set a positive tone for our exploration of RTJ Golf Trail.  Next up was the Valley course at Oxmoor Valley in Birmingham.  It was a beatiful layout with plenty of challenges for the experienced golfer---hint, bring your A-game if you plan to press the bet on the 18th.  It's a 441-yard, par 4 monster.  We circled back toward Nashville, stopping off at Silver Lakes just south of Huntsville.  We played all three course, each aptly named Backbreaker, Mindbreaker, and Heartbreaker.  It was hilly, target golf all the way.  Bring plenty of balls and play the up tees.
Every course was maintained exceptionally well, and golf guests were well treated.  If you are planning a "homecation" instead of a vacation this year, a trip to the Trail is well worth it.
