Florida Winter Golf
Tampa is a great site for winter golf. We returned there again this year and were not disappointed. Shop around
for accommodations. There are plenty of good deals, especially at St. Pete Beach. Temperatures are cool, but not
brutal. I even saw some Canadians in shorts when I was wearing a sweater. I gues golf weather depends on your
point of view. If you go, try Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club, the former home of the J.C. Penney Classic. Nice
layout with large landing areas and small greens. Like all Florida courses, there's water on every hole, so bring
plenty of amunition. I also like Fox Hollow for a first class experience. It is a frequent host for top amatuer
events. If you don't mind a drive, get to World Woods about 45 minutes out of town. Shell's World of Golf
was filmed at the Pine Barrens Course there. Quite a challenge with some monster fairway sand and waste areas.
They say golf is a game of recovery, and that is certainly true at World Woods. Enjoy!
